Pastels:
Many of my pastels depict the landscape in an impressionistic manner. I am more interested in evoking feeling and mood and creating imagery that is different from what a camera might capture. I love that pastels allow me to work in many layers and slowly develop the atmosphere of a landscape.
Availability:
The images shown below represent a sampling of my pastels. Not all originals are currently available, however all pastels shown here are available as prints (please see Prints from Original Pastels), including the detail shown above (see Wild Grasses ).

Framing:
Some of my original pastels have already been custom framed with archival materials, UV protective glass, and spacers (used to keep the mats dust free and prevent the glass from touching the artwork). The frames are simple and classic, made of real wood and custom made to fit each pastel individually. Because glass is heavy and shipping costs are sky high at the moment, I charge only my discounted cost for the framing itself. If you are interested in an already framed piece or would like me to frame a piece for you please contact me. I will happily provide you with a snapshot, description of the frame and estimate of the current shipping cost.
If you decide to purchase a framed pastel, it will arrive with a protective layer of glassine over the artwork under the mat in order to protect both the art and the cleanliness of the mat. An in-house framer (a framer who does framing on the premises) who is familiar with handling pastels can then remove the glassine, reposition the mat and close up the back of the frame. This is about a 15 minute job and should not cost more than $50, but please check with your local framer.
Framing pastels has special requirements so it is important that your framer has experience with the medium.
